Why do I care?

You might be wondering why this matters to you? As a trainer it impacts how well your message is being received by your learners. Safety training is especially critical as you are passing along a message that can be the difference between life and death for a work.

Is There a Gap?

As a safety trainer, you do your best to ensure that all your learners are involved and understand the training that they are receiving. However, if you create handouts, presentations or pamphlets that are written for a grade ten audience, or above, you may be experience a learning gap.

Think About The Learner

When you begin the creation process, you want consider your audience. Here are a few things to consider:

1. Bring the learning down to their level. Write the content at a grade six level or below.

2. Make is relevant. Learning needs to be relevant and effortless for learners to make a deeper connection.

3. Use Humour. Humour is a great way to connect with learners and often translates across the board and generations.
